A Report on World Environment Day 2014 by ENVIS Centre-Assam

A sensitisation programme to commemorate the World Environment Day 2014 was held at Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan, Narengi, Guwahati on 5th June, 2014. The programme was organised by Assam ENVIS Centre, Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) Guwahati. The programme was attended by students and teachers, local residents and environmental activists.

The theme of World Environment Day 2014 is: Small Islands and Climate Change. The official slogan for this year's theme states: "Raise Your Voice Not The Sea Level." "Small Island Developing States face numerous challenges. Many are increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change from devastating storms to the threat of sea level rise.
