Customized training programme on Bhuvan Portal

 Customized training programme on Bhuvan Portal (for the Eastern and North-Eastern Region ENVIS Centres), 19th to 20th November, 2015

A 2 day training Workshop for ENVIS Centres of Eastern and North-Eastern Region (i.e. states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tripura, Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal) was held at NESAC premises of Umiam, Meghalaya on Bhuvan portal(a geo-spatial platform of National Remote Sensing Centre of ISRO) during 19th and 20th Nov, 2015. Seventeen participants from 14 ENVIS Centres comprising both thematic and State/UT Centres including ENVIS Centre Assam attended the workshop (including Gujarat). Bihar was not present in the training programme.  From ENVIS centre, Assam Mr. Samiran Kalita was attended the programme.

On 19th November the training was inaugurated by Dr. K. K. Sharma, Senior Scientist, NESAC chaired the programme.  During the inaugural session, welcome address given by senior official of MoEF&CC and Expert members elaborated the objective of the training programme. Dr. Dibyajyoti Chetia, Scientist, NESAC, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Scientist, NRSC, Sri Sursiph K. Dy. Director, ENVIS, MoEF&CC, Ravi Goswami, Senior Technical Officer, MoEF&CC was also present in the inaugural session of the programme. The whole training programme on Bhuvan Portal was conducted by the scientist of NRSC, ISRO, Hyderabad. In the second session of the day a hands on Bhuvan portal was held to train the participants.

On the 20th, November, a training was held on QGIS. In the concluding session, Mr. P. L. Raju, Director, NESAC, give a warm massage for the successful completion of the programme in their premises and feedback from all ENVIS Centre collected.
