Environment Awareness Programme on Importance of Plantation and Role of Students in Conservation of Surrounding Environment at Debachara, Baksa (B.T.A.D.)

 An Environment Awareness meeting on Importance of Plantation and Role of Students in Conservation of Surrounding Environment was held at Kanaklata Girls’ High School, Debachara, Baksa (B.T.A.D.) on 25th August, 2014. The programme was organised by ENVIS Centre Assam, ASTEC in collaboration with a local NGO Rural Welfare Society. The programme was attended by Mr. Lohit Chandra Boro, Secretary of Rural Welfare Society, Mr. Sadananda Das, Local Environmental Activist, Mr. Bipin Chandra Baishya, Local Activist, Devachara, Mr. Jaideep Baruah, Head i/c of Environment Division, Assam Science Technology & Environment Council, Guwahati and Coordinator of ENVIS Centre-Assam, Mr. Mahesh Chandra Kalita, Asstt. Science Teacher of Nehur Anchalik High School, Devachara, Ms. Manisha Sarmah and Mr. Samiran Kalita from ENVIS Centre Assam and by a large number of students, teachers and local residents of Debachara, Baksa (B.T.A.D), Assam
