Leopard rescued at Bokakhat town

 BOKAKHAT, March 15 - A leopard was rescued here yesterday morning by a joint team of officials from the Forest Department, police and the Bokakhat civil administration. However, nobody was injured in the rescue operation. The leopard strayed out from a nearby forest to the heart of the town and was taking shelter under a poultry shed of the Bokakhat Subdivisional Swahid Kamala Miri Hospital.

After tranquilising, the leopard was shifted to the Panbari Wildlife Rescue Centre.


Talking to mediapersons, Rohiniballabh Saikia, DFO of KNP, said the rescue operation became successful due to the sincere and whole-hearted effort of the police and the civil administration.
